Compassion research demonstrates both that we have tricky brains and that we are socially shaped. Many of us experience intense self-criticism, avoidance of unpleasant feelings, shame or a sense of inferiority, and fear (for example, of failure or of not being good enough). Becoming aware of these internal processes and how they shape our experience is the beginning of compassionate mind training. This class is based on the research of Paul Gilbert, Ph.D., and emphasizes the importance of breathing and attention while learning to be kinder with ourselves.

Classes are periodically scheduled. If you are interested in attending in the future, please send me an email to be added to my waiting list.
